Flash/Release/Shrink Tapes
Flash tape is used for joining, masking or protection. Flash
tapes have good mechanical properties and chemical resistance.
Shrink tape is modified polyester, which
when heated undergoes shrinkage in the length wise direction
only. This characteristic is used to consolidate mandrel wound
composite preforms and uncured rubbers, to form high quality
low void components. The
shrink tape is fastened with adhesive flash tape, and spiral
wound along the component.
