Bleeder / Breather
The bleeder layer is usually a non-woven synthetic fiber material that comes in a variety of different thicknesses and/or weights. Its purpose is to absorb excess resin and at least one layer of bleeder cloth is used above the release film. The bleeder also acts as a breather, providing a continuous air path for pulling the vacuum. When the bag wrinkles against the hard laminate, it traps air and the breather prevents this from happening.
