- Release
Agents
Mould release will help to prevent the part
sticking to the mould. Note that the mould release agent will
have to be removed from the part before it can be painted. Mould
release agents are formulated for specific purposes, so ensure
that you have selected the correct one for your application.
Ease Release 200
Ease Release 200 is an excellent general purpose release agent
for making moulds and casting parts. This product will release
polyurethane elastomers, epoxy resin, polyester resins, RTV silicones,
rubber, and thermoplastic polymers. Ease Release 200 is effective
on aluminum, chrome, RTV silicone, epoxy, rubber, and steel moulds.
Ease Release 2831
Ease Release 2831 is a wax-based non-silicone release agent.
It has proven to be effective when used to release porous surfaces,
such as polyurethane foams. Ease Release 2831 works with aluminum,
steel and elastomeric mould construction.
PTFE NO.1 Aerosol
This is a multipurpose release not suited for epoxy with
stand 300deg.(Teflon)
Universal Mold Release
Universal Mold Release is formulated especially for mould making
and casting, and works well with most liquid rubber and liquid
plastic products. It will release mould rubbers such as polyurethanes
and polysulfides, from properly prepared models. Sealing porous
models (wood, plaster, concrete) or certain modeling clays (containing
water or sulfur) with Smooth-On Super Seal may be necessary.
UMR also easily releases a variety of casting materials (epoxies,
Smooth-On liquid plastics, etc.) from cured rubber moulds. This
product is not for use when moulding silicone rubber (use Easre
Release 200) or casting urethane foam (use Ease Release 2831).
Release 870 Aerosol
870 is a wax in solvent phase, which is simply sprayed onto the
mould. It is designed for casting and low pressure RIM applications up to 100°C. It is not suited to
epoxy laminating resins.
In and Out II
IN & OUT II concrete release agent will aid in releasing
concrete and plaster castings from urethane and silicone moulds.
IN & OUT II provides a clean positive release and does not
interfere with or affect surface detail.
