Epoxy Resin
Epoxies generally out-perform most other resin types in terms
of mechanical properties and resistance to environmental degradation,
which leads to their almost exclusive use in aircraft components.
As a laminating resin their increased adhesive properties and
resistance to water degradation make these resins ideal for
use in applications such as boat building. Epoxies differ from
polyester resins in that they are cured by a 'hardener' rather
than a catalyst. Since the hardener molecules 'co-react' with
the epoxy molecules in a fixed ratio, it is essential that
the correct mix ratio is obtained between resin and hardener
to ensure that a complete reaction takes place. If they are
not mixed in the correct ratios, unreacted resin or hardener
will remain within the matrix which will negatively affect
the final properties after cure.
Ampreg 22 Epoxy laminating system
Ampreg 22 is an epoxy laminating system that has been developed
from the successful and widely used Ampreg 20. It is intended
for both wet lay-up and vacuum bagging processes. Its long working
time, low exotherm and low viscosity make it ideal for the manufacture
of large, high performance composite structures. The system is
Lloyds and Germanischer Lloyds approved.

Ampreg 21 Epoxy laminating system
Ampreg 21 has been optimised for the manufacture of large composite
structures using hand layup, and vacuum bagging techniques.
The relatively low initial mixed viscosity of Ampreg 21 allows
easy wet out of heavyweight reinforcements. It has been formulated
to provide excellent Health and Safety. Ampreg 21 has been
designed to give excellent mechanical and thermal properties
from both ambient temperature cures, and moderate temperature
post cures (50°C). This system is available with a range
of non pigmented hardeners, from Fast to Extra Slow.

Prime 20 LV
PRIME 20 is an epoxy infusion resin
specifically designed for use in a variety of resin infusion
processes. It has a very low mixed viscosity and long working
time, allowing large parts with complex reinforcements to be
infused successfully in one operation. PRIME 20 is available
with a range of hardeners giving different working times and
cure speeds.

SP 115 - Multi purpose epoxy system
Low viscosity, ultra-clear epoxy laminating
system with good ultra-violet resistance. It has been designed
for the manufacture of laminates such as those used in sail and
surfboards which are to remain unpainted, and where a very clear
finish is required.
