Corecell - SAN Foams
Styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) foams behave in a similar way to
toughened cross-linked PVC foams. They have most of the static
properties of cross-linked PVC cores, yet have much higher
elongations and toughness. SAN foams are replacing linear PVC
foams in many applications since they have much of the linear
PVC's toughness and elongation, yet have a higher temperature
performance and better static properties. However, they are
still thermoformable, which helps in the manufacture of curved
parts. Corecell is fully compatible with polyester, vinylester,
and epoxy resins, as well as all commonly used epoxy prepreg
systems.

Corecell M-Foam (NEW)
M-Foam provides
a unique combination of high shear strength with low density,
high elongation, high temperature resistance and low resin uptake.
M-Foam is the performance leader whether your application is
slamming area or superstructure, hull or deck, using hand lamination,
infusion or prepreg. A core with a high shear strain to failure
such as M-Foam is generally better at absorbing impact and dynamic
loads. This is recognized in classification society guidelines
which often allow a lower safety factor on core shear stress
for high elongation cores. As with all Corecell products, M-Foam
enjoys good uniformity and fine cell size. These attributes,
combined with Corecell’s unique “knife-cuts”,
deliver the lightest structure possible. A further advantage
of M-Foams temperature resistance is resistance to print-though
on dark-hulled vessels. M-Foam is compatible with epoxy, polyester
and vinylester resins. Corecell™ M-Foam is available in
a wide range of thicknesses, multiple resin infusion formats and
in four grades - M60, M80, M100, and M130.

Corecell A-Foam
Corecell A-Foam is the original Corecell material, developed because of frustrations with inadequate PVC core technology in marine sandwich structures. Corecell A-Foam is well known for its incredible toughness and resistance to cracking, which comes from its high ductility.
