Core Bonding Adhesives
Ambond is an iso-polyester based core adhesive formulated for hand lay-up and vacuum bagging of Baltek balsa, PVC and SAN foam core materials in sandwich construction. Ambond is formulated for use with MEKP catalyst only. AMBOND LITE is formulated for use with BPO (Dibenzoyl Peroxide) catalyst only. Ambond core adhesive must be used in conjunction with a priming resin on the foam core. The guidelines for selecting a good resin for priming application are:

• thorough cure in a thin bond line
• working time on the foam of about 30 minutes
• lowest possible styrene content
• low thixotropy and viscosity for complete wet out of the foam surface
• test for compatibility with Ambond
