Airex - PVC Foams
PVC foams are widely used core materials in the marine, surface transport, aerospace, and wind energy industries due to their consistent density, high moisture resistance, and excellent physical properties.  PVC foams are closed-cell, moisture resistant, and have good physical properties when compared to other foams of similar density. Unlike polyurethane foam, PVC foam is not a two-component pour in place type of foam.  Although, the foam is a thermoset, it can still be thermoformed. In addition, it is resistant to many solvents including styrene and most fuels, yet is compatible with most adhesives and laminating resins.  PVC foams are available in a variety of densities.

Alcan composites core materials are offered with a variety of finishing options, which allow the cores to be contoured, and used in processes such as vacuum bagging and vacuum infusion.

AIREX® R82 High Performance foam
R82 thermoplastic foam combines outstanding fire resistance with low smoke and toxicity, along with excellent dielectric properties. For use in applications that demand structural fire resistance, are required to be transparent to radar, or operate in extreme hot or cold environments.

AIREX® PXw and AIREX® PXc Fibre reinforced structural foam panel
Airex PX is closed-cell glass-fibre reinforced urethane foam available in two different grades: PXc and PXw. Airex PXc is formulated with evenly distributed continuous fibres, making the core ideal for highly-loaded sandwich applications. Airex PXw combines continuous glass fibres with woven reinforcements on both sheet faces, thus creating a sandwich laminate in itself. Airex PXw has outstanding flexural properties and is therefore ideally suited for stand-alone applications, for instance as replacement for plywood

AIREX® C70 structural foam
Airex C70 is closed cell, cross-linked polymer foam that combines high stiffness and strength to weight ratios with superior toughness. It is ideally suited as a core material for a wide variety of lightweight sandwich structures subjected to both static and dynamic loads in service.

AIREX® R63 damage tolerant foam
A closed-cell, linear, thermoplastic foam with extremely high damage tolerance. It is an exceptional core material for dynamically loaded and shock absorbing sandwich structures.
